I also did a PSI exam when I was in school as well (back in Sept 2019). I did one PSI exam (scored a 64) took that about 12 days before my exam. I know it’s only $19.70 but right now on a retired limited income - trying to go back to work at 70 years old, it happens to be a lot of money to me. I also purchased one APEA predictor exam (I did the exam and the extra bonus questions that came with it). Stephen Tapp, who I believe is the CEO and reporting them to the BBB. That was the first I knew it was supposedly a pdf file. She was very nice and much more thorough than all the others, but finally told me the bookstore doesn’t refund pdf files. Then I was finally told I should be talking to their bookstore, which I finally did. I’ve sent time and time again proof of purchase and been promised a refund from several employees in both places to no avail. But I did order a small test prep booklet that came to $19.70 for which I’ve never been sent a product, have been on the phone with them and the test-makers - Gmetric or something like that. I had no problems with the test, testing center or the personnel there however, because they got my email wrong to begin with, I didn’t get any of the possible prep materials until 5 days before my exam, which I passed. $175 to take a test…a freaking written test! For $175. The FAA needs to s-can these guys, and put this out to a competitive bidding process. S.: the test was canceled due to the incompetence of the proctor and tech support people at PSI headquarters. I then received an email from PSI stating that my test was canceled due to COVID-19. However, there was no way I could finish the exam in time to get back to work. They wanted me to reschedule immediately to take the exam later on that day so they would not have to refund my money. After being there an hour and a half, I was told my test was canceled, and the testing site was hit with an FAA security violation for this incident. I scheduled an exam, then went to the testing site and found there was an issue with the qualifications of the proctor. Unfortunately, PSI is the sole provider of FAA written exams. It was the most useless phone call ever!įAA needs to get a different written test vendor. She couldn't answer that question and was ready to disconnect the call. I asked her that if headquarters didn't have a number for their own testing center, then how do they get in contact with them. Finally, she told me that they didn't have a phone number for this location, but could give me the address. I finally called the main center / headquarters, and the representative literally kept telling me "bear with me, one moment, please" in 10 - 15 second intervals. So I went online to find a phone number for this location AND COULD NOT FIND ONE! All that was listed was their address. Alternatively, they said I could drive to their nearest location (in Duluth, GA) which is about 40 minutes away from my location. When I returned with it, I was told to come back next week because the person who did the licenses was not there. I passed my state exam and was told I needed to obtain a Lawful Presence Affidavit.
